Tour Price Guarantee for 2008: Once your deposit is received your tour price is guaranteed.  If you choose to transfer to an alternate tour date, your tour price is still guaranteed.  Please note that tour prices do not include airfare.

Payment: To reserve a space on a tour you must sign this Terms and Conditions, fill out and sign the registration form and a deposit of $300 per person.  The deposit will be 100% refundable for two weeks from receipt after which it is 100% non-refundable. Final payment and balance will be due at least 60 days prior to tour departure.  If you sign-up for a tour with a departure within 60 days of departure, full payment must be made in order to confirm your reservation for the tour and the deposit amount will be non-refundable.  If final payment is not received by the date on your tour confirmation letter then there may be a possibility that you may be considered cancelled and removed from the tour.  All payments can be made by check, money order, VISA, Mastercard or American Express credit cards.

Single Supplement: The trip price is based on double occupancy.  If you are single and would like to have a roommate we will do our best to find one for you.  If you do not wish to have a roommate or one can not be found for you, you will have to pay the single supplement.  Also, as many hotels we use are small, single rooms may be limited. So, while we will do our best to accommodate the request, it may not be possible.  You can enquire about single availability on a particular tour before reserving.   Once confirmed, it will be guaranteed baring unforeseen circumstances upon arrival. Single supplements are refundable if cancelled more than 60 days prior to departure. The supplements are as follows:

Cancellation by Participant: Deposits are 100% refundable within 2 weeks of receipt, after which are not refundable for any reason.  Once final payment is made cancellations made 45-60 prior to departure will receive a 70% refund and 30-45days a 50% refund.  Cancellations made with less than 30 days will receive no refund.  All cancellation requests must be made in writing and have a written dated response from European Discovery.  Prior to departure each participant must complete and sign the Medical Release and Waiver Agreement.  As airfare is not included with the tour, European Discovery does not provide cancellation coverage for any portion of paid airfare.  Refund policy for airfare is strictly between air travel provider
and participant  Because of this strict policy, European Discovery highly recommends trip cancellation insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances which could cause you to cancel.

Tour Transfers: Up to 60 days prior to departure any participant can transfer to another tour if space is available with full transfer of deposit and final payment amount with no additional transfer charge.  If no space is available, payments can be “banked” in full to be applied to any future tour.  Transfer requests will be reviewed individually by management.

Cancellation by European Discovery: Every effort will be made to not ever cancel a tour but in the rare case that European Discovery cancels a tour for any reason, 100% of deposit and 100% of final payment will be refunded to participant.  As European Discovery does not provide airfare, European Discovery is not responsible for refund of this, or any other additional costs, due to cancellation.  For this reason again, we highly recommend travel insurance that will cover this and other emergency situations.

Travel Insurance: Again, because refunds after the 60 day period are very limited,  European Discovery strongly encourages participants to purchase separate Travel Insurance for the tour and include any additional costs(airfare, delays, medical evacuation, care & treatment) to make sure you are completely covered in case of unforeseen events.  Please see website for suggestions on kinds of insurance and reputable on-line vendors.

Baggage advice: Because of small luggage space on the minibus of the England/Scotland tour and the European Highlights tour, participants will be limited to an equivalent of 1 airline-size bag(22x14x9) and one carry on.  For all tours, participants will be required to be able to transfer their bags on their own which will include possible transfer on train from airport, train to hotel walk and up stairs in hotel.  Your tour handbook will provide tips for packing light. We have never had anyone complain that they had to little luggage!

Health and activity: Prior to departure all participants must complete and sign the Medical Release and Waiver Agreement form.  Failure to be accurate on this form could result in expulsion from a tour.  Any pre-existing physical, emotional or mental disabilities that require attention or treatment should be reported to European Discovery in writing prior to departure.  All European Discovery tours are active.  All tours through cities are walking tours which require ability to walk 1-4 miles over uneven pavement or through small villages.  In order to get the most out of the tour you should make sure you are in reasonable shape (whether your 20 or 90) and can walk and stand and listen to a tour guide for 2 hours at a time with only short “leaning” rest breaks.  Our policy is that our tour is non-smoking.  Smoking will only be allowed outside (away from others) and never in the hotels,  restaurants or inside tour sites.

Tour itineraries: Every effort will be made to stick to the itinerary given in the brochure but if surprises come up, the tour escort may have to make changes to provide the best possible tour.  Changes in tour itineraries are not grounds for any refund or compensation.

Participation: While we hope that everyone behaves respectful and safely on a tour, there could be an occasion where someone does not.  In this event, European Discovery reserves the right to expel participants from the tour if they interfere with the safety, comfort and/or convenience of other tour members, at any time and at the expense of the misbehaving participant without any claims against European Discovery.  Any damage done to any properties used on tour by a tour participant will be the sole responsibility of the tour participant in coordination with the individual property owner/manager.
