"I went on the
England and Scotland trip in the spring as a single
traveler and had a really wonderful and relaxing time.
There was so much to see with a great combination of
interesting guided tours/sites and a lot of beautiful
scenery. The little villages that we visited in
the countryside were so quaint and comforting. I even worked in visiting with my relatives in
London which was a treat for me. Ellie knows her stuff
and made it so easy and fun to take it all in without
stressing. I think one of the things that surprised me
the most was how nice the B&B’s and friendly their hosts
were and how fabulous the food was. One does not
normally think of good food and Great Britain together,
but the places that Ellie took us to were every bit as
good as my favorite Portland restaurants – even the
pubs!"

"As a senior
citizen (age 70), I found the European Discovery
London-Paris tour just perfect for my needs. The trip
was intellectually stimulating thanks to a well designed
tour and some outstanding local guides. It is quite
obvious that Ellie has done some excellent research in
finding just the right hotels and restaurants. And the
price is extremely good for this type of tour. The
personal attention that Ellie provides by accompanying
each tour gives the participants a sense of relaxation
and security that I have not seen on other tours. I am
a tennis player and I asked if I could see Wimbledon.
Ellie made special tour reservations before we left and
accompanied me out there on our free day in London. It
was a unique experience I could not have had on other
tours."

"My family and I
took the 8-day European Discovery tour to London and
Paris. We are "experienced" travelers having traveled
many places in North America, several trips to Japan,
and a vacation in Australia. I have been all over the
world when I was a child. I have always wanted to go
back to London and Paris and share the experience with
my wife and my two daughters. The tour organized by
Ellie was perfect for us. It was well organized and
planned with well qualified local guides but also very
flexible. The tour group was small so that you could
interact with the guide which made it feel like
traveling with friends and family instead of a herd of
tourists. We found that the small group size also made
us more flexible to adapt to changes, get easier and
quicker access to everything and thus spend more time
touring instead of waiting. We were able to get
personal attention from Ellie such as meeting us at the
airport, suggesting and planning activities for free
days, and ways to save money. The tour would not be
good for small children, but great for teens as well as
older adults. Our daughters were 12 and 15 at the time
and they had a wonderful time and experience which they
will remember for the rest their lives.

As seniors in
high school eager for graduation, we were really excited
to visit London and Paris together accompanied one of
our parents. We were a bit worried at first that the
tour might be designed for older people but it did not
turn out that way at all. With guides like Tom, Iris and
Dominique showing us through London and Paris, the
history and the places we visited kept us both
entertained and interested. The meals together were also
fun with lots of talking, sharing, laughing and
delicious food. Sometimes it was more food than we were
used to so we did not need to eat very much else between
the group meals! On our free days, we just wandered,
found some trendy shops, watched street performers or
did whatever we felt like and then got together with
others for lunch or dinner – this was pretty cool,
especially since it gave us time to explore the
intriguing, yet less known corners of the cities. Ellie
gave us some truly great suggestions that she thought we
would like more than seeing more museums. In London we
went to some exciting, colorful indoor and outdoor
markets via the Tube and also wandered around where our
hotel was. In Paris, we went up to the artists’ area of
Montmartre and also found ourselves over near the Moulin
Rouge. In the evening, we went out to the Egyptian
cafes (suggested by one of our sisters who had been to
Paris before) which was just a kick. We had extremely
helpful maps and riding the Metro was pretty easy and we
always felt safe. Whenever we were separated from the
group, Ellie would lend us her extra cell phone that we
had as a backup in case of emergencies. As we developed
our photos and told our jealous friends about the trip
after returning home, we realized it was one of the best
trips either of us has ever taken and we would recommend
it to others our age.

(Testimonial for the
planning/consulting help we can give)
When my husband and I met
Ellie, our trip to Italy was but a gleam in our eye
- and a clueless one at that! We each own a
business and felt overwhelmed at the prospect of
figuring out an itinerary for our 14 day trip.
Three meetings with Ellie and many e-mails later we
are now packing for our trip with great anticipation
and excitement! She was able to help us work out so
many details with precise and direct information
that would have taken us endless hours to discover
on our own.
Ellie has done the footwork
and the homework so she was able to streamline our
planning, keeping in mind our unique goals and hopes
for our journey. We highly recommend using her as a
travel consultant if you decide to travel on your
own rather than with one of her small tours. I look
forward to adding a glowing report about our trip
upon our return. Ciao!
