Discover
the Jewels of Italy
Venice, Tuscany and Rome in 10 days
for only $1,759
(tour under development)

Ahhh,
Italy.... When you think of Italy you think of romance,
art, history, food, Roman gods... well anyway, that is what we think
of. Choosing from all that Italy has to offer is a
difficult choice but these three places/cities offer a
balanced cross section of some of the best of Italy's
history, art and beauty if you only have a short time to
spend. This
tour is currently under development. What this means is that the dates
are set but the exact hotels, details in itinerary , guides names are
not. The price is a maximum of $1,759 per person double occupancy which represents over a 25%
discount for this first tour. The price may be reduced after final
details or determined in May but it will
not be increased. It will have the same level of quality and
type of itinerary that all of the other tours have - small groups, wonderful
food, great guides as intro and then plenty of time to explore on your
own. Like the other tours, it will also include deluxe
accommodations, all transportation, guides, entrances, tours and most
meals. The final details and cost will be available by the end of
May.
The
tour will start in Venice where you will be staying in central Venice at
a small charming hotel.
It will include a welcome fabulous 3-course Italian feast, and next day
with guided highlights tour including Piazza and Basilica San Marco,
Doge's Palace, the Frari Church, and more. Following the highlights, you will have a
full day to explore on your own. Because Venice is fairly small, does not allow any cars,
and is a very romantic city, it is a great place to begin your
Italian wanderings without worrying about getting lost. It has a wonderful
nightlife and perfect for starting your acquaintance with Italian wine and fresh
gelato.
After
Venice we will hop on our mini-bus to our villa overlooking a
small
Tuscan village. From here we will have a full day together for the
breathtaking hill
towns of Tuscany, including San Gimignano and a wine tour in a 700 year
old abbey in Chianti. We will stay in Siena with plenty of time
to explore this quaint Tuscan city. Another day will be dedicated to Florence and her incredible
art and architecture with a guided city highlights tour including
Michelangelo's David, the Medici chapels, the Duomo and a visit to the famous
Uffizi gallery. Our dinner together will be in a small family owned
restaurant in the Tuscan countryside. The last day in Tuscany will be for you to soak in
Italian delights any way that you choose - hiking, to the beach, more
Florence, wine tours, the choices are vast and something can be found to
make every Italian vacation perfect.
We
will give up our mini-bus and head to our final stop by train - the ancient city of Rome, the heart of the ancient
Roman empire and current capital of Italy. Again, we will have a
charming local hotel where out hosts will continue to acquaint us with
their favorite Italian wine. Our first full day in Rome will
include a guided city highlights tour, including the famous Colosseum,
Roman Forum, Pantheon and Vatican City with the grand and rich St. Peter's Basillica.
An expert local guide helping to bring the rich Roman history to life.
We would love you to join this tour if you
want to have a bit over a week of Italian highlights. Because it will be the first run with guests in September, we will be
offering a special price for the 2006 season in exchange for your
feedback on how to make the tour the absolute best it can be. Please
contact
ellie@eurodiscov.com personally if you are interested in more
information about this tour.
